Workshop "Sport as Value" held in Sarajevo

Sarajevo hosted a workshop from November 19 to 22 as part of the EU project "Sport as Value." This workshop represents a significant step towards integrating positive values into sports practices, building stronger communities through sports, and promoting EU values.

Co-funded through the Erasmus+ program, this project brings together organizations from the Balkan region and the European Union with a common goal of improving sports activities and contributing to a better society. The workshop allowed participants to learn more about EU project design and project management and discuss the development of guidelines and joint actions that will be implemented next year, starting with Montenegro.

During the workshop, participants had the chance to exchange experiences, discuss best practices, and align plans for future work. This event marks the beginning of the journey toward achieving the project's goals, and collaboration among organizations from different countries offers an excellent opportunity for sharing ideas and creating positive changes in the sports community and society.

The workshop in Sarajevo was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of sports to promote positive values and build a better society. The "Sport as Value" project continues to inspire and motivate people across the region to work together to achieve these goals and create positive changes in their communities.

The project involves nine organizations from eight countries:

  • Italy: Organizzazione per L'educazione allo Sport (OPES)
  • Montenegro: Montenegrin Olympic Committee
  • Albania: National Olympic Committee of Albania
  • Malta: European Athletes as Students (EAS)
  • Portugal: Portuguese Sports Confederation (PSC)
  • Kosovo: Olympic Committee of Kosovo and the University of Pristina
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina: Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The project coordinator is The European Sports NGO (ENGSO) from Sweden.

The "Sport as Value" project has two main objectives:

Building the capacity of sports clubs, organizations, and associations to integrate positive values into sports practices at the grassroots level in a structured, dynamic, and systematic manner.

Building stronger communities and a peaceful society through sports and the promotion of EU values
