The Embassy of France in Montenegro, the French Institute, and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, with the support of the Montenegrin Basketball Federation, organized the "World Relay—Paris 2024", a basketball tournament for high school students learning the French language. 12 teams from three high schools in Podgorica, "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium, "Mirko Vešović" Economic High School, and "Sergije Stanić" Commercial School, competed in basketball, as well as three-point shooting at the "Dragan Ivanović" court in Njegoš Park in Podgorica. The teams were named after the 12 venues where athletes will compete in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. In the final, two teams of high school students played, with representatives from the "Mirko Vešović" Economic High School winning third place. At least one girl played in the three-member teams, and high school students Marija Dutina and Aleksa Martinović were the most successful in quick three-point shooting. The Montenegrin Olympic Committee, together with the company One and the French Institute, provided prizes for the most successful participants. The joint basketball event was also an opportunity to socialize with French athletes playing in Montenegro—handball player Armel Atingre from Budućnost and basketball player Joan Makundu from the Podgorica team. The Ambassador of France in Montenegro, H.E. Anne-Marie Descôtes, attended the tournament.
