Today, a meeting was held at the premises of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (MOC), with representatives from the Government of Montenegro, the Capital City of Podgorica, and the MOC to discuss the development of sports infrastructure in the country and the improvement and construction of sports facilities that would meet the standards necessary for the development of elite sports. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Dragoslav Šćekić, the Deputy Mayor of the Capital City, Mr. Luka Rakčević, the Director-General of the Directorate for State Budget in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Bojan Paunović, and the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Mr. Dušan Simonović led the discussions. Also present at the meeting, organized by the President of the MOC, were Mr. Vladimir Obradović and Mr. Zoran Jojić from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, as well as Mr. Miljan Barović and Mr. Miloš Antić from the Capital City of Podgorica. The meeting focused on a joint initiative of the Government of Montenegro, the Capital City of Podgorica, and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee - the construction of the Olympic House, Olympic Museum, and Olympic Park in Podgorica. All participants agreed that this project was significant and pledged to work together to accelerate its implementation. It was operationally agreed that within seven days, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee would prepare a project task for developing the conceptual design of the Olympic House, which is the initial step in realizing this extensive project. Concrete responsibilities of all present were also agreed upon during the meeting. Other key elements of sports infrastructure development were also discussed at the meeting, including plans to construct the eastern stands of the City Stadium and an Athletics Stadium and proposals to create tennis and table tennis facilities. The Deputy Prime Minister, Dragoslav Šćekić, stated during the meeting, "This joint effort represents a crucial milestone in our commitment to improving sports infrastructure in Montenegro. The Olympic House project, along with other planned facilities, will not only enhance the sports capabilities of our country but will also contribute to economic and overall social development." The Deputy Mayor, Luka Rakčević, emphasized the importance of municipal involvement, stating, "The Capital City strongly supports the realization of these ambitious projects. We will create modern, inclusive spaces that foster sporting excellence and community engagement. The Capital City needs to have the Olympic House and Olympic Museum, a stadium that it deserves, an athletics stadium, and other sports facilities to support sports development in our city." The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, expressed optimism: "Today's meeting marks the beginning of an important journey towards realizing our shared vision for sports development in Montenegro. Collaboration between government entities, the Capital City, and sports organizations is crucial for creating a sustainable sports ecosystem that nurtures talent and inspires future generations." The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Montenegro's new Development Strategy includes, among other things, the construction of two National Centers, one in the north and one in the south, which will have a positive impact on the sports sector and tourism in our country. The Ministry of Sports and the Capital City reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation, recognizing its importance in ensuring the successful implementation of future infrastructural endeavors in sports.
