THE OLYMPIC CARAVAN STARTED FROM CETINJE

It was a perfect day for the ideal start of the new Olympic caravan.

This traditional event, meticulously organized by the dedicated team at the Montenegrin Olympic Committee with the invaluable support of our friends, heralds the grandest event of the Olympic cycle, the Summer Olympic Games. The caravan commenced its journey in Cetinje, the most picturesque city in Montenegro today. With the backing of the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje and our esteemed sponsors, Sport Vision, One company, Jugopetrol - Eko gas stations, Lovćen insurance, and Erste Bank, numerous children from Cetinje, along with visitors of all ages, had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the Olympic spirit and movement, the values of sport and Olympism, and the significance of sports socialisation.

Through interactive games and enjoyable activities, in the most genuine manner and with compulsory education, in the awe-inspiring setting of the Court Square, girls and boys from Cetinje kindergartens and elementary schools, as well as the youngest members of Cetinje handball and basketball clubs, were introduced to ancient and modern Olympic games, Olympic medals, symbols, the upcoming Games in Paris, their mascots, and also with our  Zora and Branko, the work of the MOC, and probably most importantly to them, with Montenegrin athletes.

With an interesting Olympic quiz, competition in various games, and exciting activities prepared by friends of the Olympic team, together with our little ones, we sent a wonderful picture to the world. We announced a journey to remember Paris this summer.

Igor Vušurović, the Secretary General of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, reiterated the primary objective of this caravan, which is to disseminate the Olympic spirit and movement among the youngest and to familiarize them with the crucial values of sports. "We have extensive plans to organize numerous activities in Cetinje and other Montenegrin cities, where we aim to provide the youngest with a direct understanding of our work. Our ultimate goal is to instil the spirit of the Olympic Games and enable young people to delve deeper into the lives of significant figures in Montenegrin sports who have made a lasting impact on European sports", he stated.

Katarina Bulatović, the Sports Director of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, highlighted the importance of involving children in sports activities. "This Olympic caravan will familiarise children with Olympic values, Olympism, and the Olympic Games and allow them to learn the importance of respecting rules and fair play in sports and life. The caravan started its journey from Cetinje and will visit various Montenegrin cities to inspire young generations to engage in sports actively", Bulatović emphasised.

In Cetinje yesterday, swimmers Miloš Milenković and Jovana Kuljača, as well as the swimming team coach Danijela Franeta, also spent time with the children, talking about their experiences in sports.

Cetinje is the first of our five Montenegrin Olympic destinations this spring, and we will also convey the story of the power of Olympism in Bar, Herceg Novi, Podgorica, and Kolašin.
