Representatives of the Montenegrin Assembly’s Committee for education, science, culture, and sports, including President Nikola Rovčanin and Committee member Branka Marković, were guests of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee. The meeting was attended by Dušan Simonović, President of the MOC, Secretary General Igor Vušurović, Sports Director Katarina Bulatović, Deputy Secretary General Maja Peković, and Financial Director Mladen Vlahović. The visit was organised as one of the priority activities in preparation for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games. During the meeting, the role of MOC in developing sports in Montenegro, which represents a public interest area with significant educational, health, and cultural impacts, was discussed. Models for achieving COK's financial independence and securing funds for the development of sports activities were also discussed. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold a thematic session dedicated to the sports development project in schools, currently in the agreement phase with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation. The project includes introducing Olympic sports as an elective subject in primary education. Additionally, at the session to be held in the second half of June, amendments to the Sports Law and improvements in physical education teaching in schools will be considered. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Ministry of Finance will be invited.
