Today in the SIRO Boka Place hotel in Tivat, an inspiring conference called “Sports, wellness and tourism – new energy for the development of Montenegro” was held, which included topics of strategic importance for the future development of Montenegro.
Mr. Dragoslav Šćekić, Minister of Sports and Youth of Montenegro, Mr. Dušan Simonović, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee and Mr. Nik van Vonsel, Director of SIRO Boka Place Hotel participated in the panel.
Through a dynamic discussion, key issues related to Montenegro’s need for institutions that combine sports, health and tourism were opened, as well as the role of such concepts in the development of tourism outside the summer season. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of connecting sports infrastructure projects with preparations for major international competitions, including the Los Angeles 2028 (LA28) Olympic Games.
The president of COK, Mr. Simonović, emphasized that SIRO Boka Place brings new value to the Montenegrin sports system, providing our athletes with conditions for preparation in accordance with world standards.
The Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Šćekić, emphasized the importance of strategic investment in infrastructure that connects sports, health and tourism, and emphasized that such projects contribute to the diversification of Montenegro’s tourist offer and its sustainable development.
Director of the SIRO Hotel, Mr. Nick van Wonsel, presented an innovative hotel concept that combines fitness, recovery, nutrition and a mindful lifestyle, and expressed his pride that SIRO Boka Place is becoming a home for athletes, recreationists and everyone who chooses a healthy life.
It was especially emphasized that SIRO Boka Place will play a significant role in the preparation of Montenegrin athletes for the Olympic Games LA28, through the provision of top infrastructure for training and recovery.
This event confirmed that Montenegro, through the cooperation of the public and private sectors, is building the foundations for positioning itself as a regional center of sports and wellness tourism.
