During today’s reception, the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, recalled that “the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games represent one of the most significant international sporting events at the very beginning of 2026 and the culmination of a multi-year preparation process of Montenegrin athletes in winter sports. Montenegro’s participation in this prestigious sporting event confirms the continuity of our country’s presence within the Olympic movement and represents an important segment of Montenegro’s institutional and sporting representation on the international stage.”
In addition to expressing his wishes for the best possible results for Peković and Grbović, Simonović recalled that this is “the fifth participation of the Montenegrin Olympic team at the Winter Olympic Games, and that our athletes are always ready to compete with the best. The participation of our athletes also represents a specific contribution to the promotion of Montenegro and the strengthening of the country’s international visibility, while also serving as motivation for other young athletes. For Montenegro, this is another important step in creating competitors and, I believe, results that will continue to improve.”
