International conference “Olympism in Montenegro”

The international conference called “Olympism in Montenegro”, organized by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK) and the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU), will be held on October 15 and 16 at the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts.

This conference represents the first significant event within the newly established cooperation between CANU and COC, confirming our joint commitment to the development of sports and the promotion of Olympic values.

The two-day conference program includes introductory discussions and a series of panel sessions with experts from renowned domestic and international institutions. The program includes the following topics:

  • Philosophy of sport and Olympism, with an emphasis on the historical development of sport in Montenegro and the mission of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.
  • Contemporary society and Olympism, with a special focus on the social, economic and cultural aspects of the Olympic movement.
  • The organization and legal aspects of Olympism, including legal challenges and the future of the Olympic Games, as well as the regulation of National Olympic Committees.
  • Montenegrin sports and athletes at the Olympic Games, with discussions about the successes and challenges of Montenegrin athletes on the world’s biggest sports stage.
  • Olympism in education, with an emphasis on primary, secondary schools and universities, in cooperation with international organizations such as the International Olympic Committee and FISU.

The conference will gather domestic and international experts from sports, science, medicine and culture, who will share their knowledge and inspire the further development of sports in Montenegro.
