Our water polo players were defeated by Greece after five minutes 17:16, in the match of the second round of Group A of the Olympic tournament in Paris.
In the regular course, the match ended in a draw 12:12. Montenegro missed the opportunity to win and take a big step towards the quarterfinals, they played a good match, but in the end they had to settle for just a point. The “Sharks” led throughout the entire match, twice had an advantage of three goals (5:2, 7:4), and six minutes before the end it was 10:8. However, Greece made a turnaround and took the lead 12:11 29 seconds before the end, and two seconds before the end, Vasilije Radović equalized. In the penalty series, Bogdan Đurđić’s crossbar ruled, while the Greek water polo players realized all fives. In regular time, Vlado Popadić was the most effective with four goals, Vasilije Radović, Marko Mršić and Đuro Radović each scored two, and Bogdan Đurđić and Stefan Vidović scored one each. Montenegrin water polo players will play against Italy in the third round, on Thursday from 16:35.
