The constituent session of the Management Board of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee was held

Dear representatives of the media,

Today in Podgorica, a constitutive session of the Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK) was held, where key decisions were made and important documents were adopted in order to improve the work and prepare for the next projects.

The previous acting General Secretary Igor Vušurović was unanimously relieved of his duties, and the new acting general secretary will be Andrija Popović, for a period of six months.

One of the first adopted documents is the Rules of Procedure of the Board of Directors of COK, which will regulate the work and responsibilities of board members, which aims to increase efficiency and transparency in decision-making.

In the following period, a working version of the new Rulebook on the selection of the sportsman of the year will be prepared, in the development of which all members of the Board of Directors will be involved. This rulebook aims to improve and further specify the criteria for the selection of the best sportsmen and women of Montenegro.

The Commission for the selection of the best young athletes and national teams was formed, whose members will be Dimitrija Rašović, Nikola Perišić and Jelena Dubljević. The task of this commission will be to select and reward the most talented young athletes, which aims to encourage their further development and progress.

It is also planned to form permanent commissions of the COK, which will cover various aspects of the work of the COK.The Sports Commission will remain in the same composition and continue its work for another mandate period.

One of the important activities will be the collection of data for the categorization of sports for the period 2025-2027. year.In this regard, an invitation will be sent to the national sports federations to submit relevant data, and the work on this will be taken over by a committee consisting of Vanjo Mugoš, Danijela Franeta and Jovica Rečević.

Vanja Mugoša will take over the management of COK Arbitration, and on December 11, a round table with the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro is planned, where legal issues of importance for sports in Montenegro will be discussed.

We remind you that the COK Assembly, at the session held on October 25, elected a new Management Board, with the following composition:

Five of the 16 elected members of the Management Board of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee are women, which represents an increase of 150% compared to the previous Management Board, which had only 2 members.

Please note that one additional position in the Management Board will be filled after consultation with the newly elected leadership of the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro.
