The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, held a meeting with the President of the Chamber of Physiotherapists, Dragan Guberinić, and Milica Ćetković, a member of the Chamber, where they discussed the role and position of physiotherapists in Montenegrin sports.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the protection of the profession, where the importance of hiring exclusively licensed physiotherapists in national teams and sports clubs was emphasized. Ways to improve standards in this area were discussed, in order to ensure professional work and health protection of athletes.
In this sense, special attention should be paid to the new Law on Sports, which would additionally regulate the status of physiotherapists within the sports system. They also discussed the possibilities of improving the rights of licensed physiotherapists, ensuring appropriate compensation for their work, and formalizing their role in sports organizations.
The meeting also discussed future educational initiatives that would enable physiotherapists to continue their professional development, as well as strengthening cooperation between the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, the Chamber of Physiotherapists and national sports federations.
The Montenegrin Olympic Committee remains committed to improving conditions for athletes and professional staff in Montenegrin sports, and will continue to support initiatives that contribute to better organization and professionalization of this important area.
