NOC Montenegro at STRONG Project Meeting: Turning Athletes’ Rights into Practice

The second partner meeting of the STRONG – Athletes’ Rights & Responsibilities project was held in Mainz on 1–2 October. The project once again brought together representatives of 15 National Olympic Committees, including the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, with a shared goal: to ensure athletes’ rights are more clearly recognised, understood, and applied in everyday sporting environments.

During the second project meeting and Validation Workshop, the partners worked to translate the findings and experiences from the previous phase into concrete educational needs and implementation plans. A dedicated part of the programme focused on sharing experiences, using Germany as an example.

One of the key messages from the two-day meeting was that protecting athletes’ rights is not simply a matter of documents and rules, but of creating a sporting system in which athletes know their rights, understand their responsibilities and have the support they need to exercise them.

The Montenegrin Olympic Committee is participating in the European project STRONG – Supporting the Implementation of Athletes’ Rights and Responsibilities in National Olympic Committees, coordinated by the EOC EU Office and co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme.

Maja Peković and Anđela Bulatović represented the Montenegrin Olympic Committee in Mainz.
