NOC Montenegro Representative Completes IOC Safeguarding Training Programme in Lausanne

Maja Peković, Deputy Secretary General of NOC Montenegro and an IOC-certified Safeguarding Officer, attended the “Train-the-Trainers – Safeguarding Essentials” programme at Olympic House, the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, on 16 June 2026.

The programme was designed for the National Olympic Committee, safeguarding focal points, and brought together representatives from NOCs worldwide to strengthen the capacity to implement policies that protect athletes from all forms of abuse and harassment.

During the one-day programme, participants addressed key topics related to safeguarding in sport, including the distinction between the roles of safeguarding officers and safeguarding focal points, the structure and content of educational modules, and practical guidance for delivering safeguarding education within their respective organisations and national contexts.

Through participation in this programme, NOC Montenegro further demonstrates its commitment to creating a safe sporting environment and aligning national practices with International Olympic Committee standards in the field of athlete safeguarding and well-being.
