President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia on First Official Visit to the NOC Montenegro

The newly elected President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia (NOC Serbia), Dejan Tomašević, paid his first official visit to the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (NOC Montenegro), where he was received by MOC President Dušan Simonović.

The meeting was also attended by Adnan Bajramović, Member of the Executive Board of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, as well as Maja Peković, Deputy Secretary General of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.

During the discussions, it was highlighted that the NOC Montenegro and NOC Serbia are connected by nearly two decades of successful cooperation, built on mutual respect, trust and a shared understanding of the role that National Olympic Committees play in the development of sport and the preservation of Olympic values.

Presidents Simonović and Tomašević agreed that there is scope for further strengthening of relations, particularly through the exchange of knowledge and experience, capacity building, the development of programmes of mutual interest, and cooperation at both regional and international levels.

It was particularly emphasised that the two Olympic Committees will continue to support one another in matters of importance for the Olympic movement, athletes and sports organisations, with a shared readiness to translate this strong cooperation into concrete initiatives.

“This first visit represents an important step in a partnership that we have been building over the years with great care and mutual respect. Our two Olympic Committees share the same vision for the development of sport, and I am confident that the joint work ahead of us—from programmes dedicated to athletes to our shared presence on the international stage—will further strengthen the friendship and trust between our organisations,” said Dušan Simonović, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.

Cooperation between the two Olympic Committees, aimed at strengthening the visibility of initiatives for the protection of the ideas and interests of both the OCS and the MOC, will in the coming period also be reflected through joint activities within the frameworks of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), and the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), as well as within the informal group of National Olympic Committees of Central and Eastern Europe.
