At today’s session, the Management Board of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee made a decision on the best athletes in 2024.
Sailor Milivoj Dukić, who achieved exceptional results on the international stage, was declared the best athlete:
- He participated in four editions of the Olympic Games, including the Games in Paris 2024, where he took 13th place;
- He won 21st place at the World Championship in the Ilca 7 class, thereby securing the norm for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024;
- He is currently ranked 16th in the World Ranking.
Based on the proposal of the Commission for the selection of the best young athletes and national selections, the board of directors decided that the titles of the best national selections belong to the women’s handball and men’s water polo teams of Montenegro, which achieved remarkable results in the past year.
The following were chosen as the best young female athletes:
- Jelena Vukčević (handball),
- Jovana Damjanović (karate)
The following were declared the best young athletes:
- Srđan Janović (water polo),
- Viktor Dukić (kickboxing).
The board of directors also decided to present the award for “Sports Achievement of the Year” to boxer Tomislav Đinović, in recognition of his extraordinary achievement on the sports scene.
