Predrag Jokić

The Executive Board of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee established, on the occasion of 10 years of membership in the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the special award “Golden Star of Montenegrin Sport”. It was decided that the first winner of this award will be water polo player Predrag Jokić, who won all possible awards in this sport. With the Montenegrin national team, Jokić was European champion in 2008 in Malaga, twice in 2012 and 2016 he was vice-champion of the Old Continent, and in 2013 in Barcelona he was vice-champion of the world. He also won silver with the water polo team of Serbia and Montenegro at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
“There was an undivided opinion on this matter in the Executive Board. Predrag Jokić deserved this recognition both in his career and as a person. I will remind you that he participated in four tournaments of the Olympic Games, that in water polo he won everything that could be won, he is an exceptional person outside the sport as well as in it. He did a lot to affirm Montenegro and our sport in the world and because of all this there was not a single moment of dilemma!” – said Dušan Simonović, president of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.
