ANNOUNCEMENT – Montenegrin Athletes’ Forum, 21 November, Podgorica

The Montenegrin Olympic Committee and the COC Athletes’ Commission, with the support of Olympic Solidarity and the European Olympic Committees (EOC), are organising the Montenegrin Athletes’ Forum, which will take place on Friday, 21 November 2025, at the Hilton Hotel in Podgorica, starting at 10:00 a.m.

At a time when sport increasingly transcends its boundaries and becomes a driver of social change, the Forum stands as a key national platform for dialogue on the future of sport in Montenegro, with athletes at its centre.

The Forum will be officially opened by:

  • Dušan Simonović, President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee
  • Dragoslav Šćekić, Minister of Sports and Youth
  • Milivoj Dukić, President of the COC Athletes’ Commission

Through panels, presentations and workshops, the Forum will address six essential areas for the systemic development of sport:

  • Athletes’ rights and decision-making roles
  • Mental health and psychological preparation
  • Sport integrity and anti-doping efforts
  • Dual careers: education and post-career transition
  • Sports performance and artificial intelligence
  • Long-term development: quality sport for life

The Forum will bring together athletes, national federations, institutions, professors, coaches, sponsors, international organisations and civil society representatives, with the aim of defining concrete recommendations and documents – including the Athletes’ Rights Declaration.

On the day prior to the Forum, 20 November, two important workshops will be held: one on anti-doping, in cooperation with the Anti-Doping Commission, and one on athlete safeguarding, organised by the COC.

The detailed agenda, informational materials and accreditation instructions will be made available shortly.
