The Montenegrin Olympic Committee (MOC) today signed one-year athlete scholarship agreements providing monthly support for 2026 with the best young athletes of Montenegro, who distinguished themselves through their results, dedication, and potential as Athletes of the Year in the Youth Category for 2025.
Based on the decision of the MOC Executive Board of 18 December 2025, which also confirmed the decision of the Commission for the Selection of the Best Young Athletes, this year’s scholarship recipients are:
- water polo player Strahinja Gojković,
- boxer Matija Roganović, and
- handball player Martina Knežević.
These young athletes have achieved notable results at national and international level, confirming the continuity of quality in Montenegrin sport and justifying the trust placed in them through these athlete scholarships.
By awarding these annual athlete scholarships, the MOC aims to provide support to young athletes at an important stage of their sporting development, as a form of recognition for achieved results and encouragement for further work. The programme aims, within its possibilities, to ease part of the costs related to training and competitive activities, and to send a clear message that their results are recognised and valued within the Olympic family. The Montenegrin Olympic Committee remains committed to the principle that athletes are at the centre of all development policies, with the belief that investing in young people today represents the foundation of Montenegro’s future sporting success on the biggest international stage
