GSSE officially start tomorrow, Montenegro sees a chance, medals are announced

Montenegrin athletes are expected to perform at the Games of Small European Countries in Andorra tomorrow.

The official opening is tonight at 9:30 p.m., and the flag will be carried by the captain of the basketball team, Milica Jovanović, and the swimmer, participant of the Olympic Games in Paris – Miloš Milenković.
Montenegro has been participating in IMZE since 2011, and so far our athletes have won 125 medals – 55 gold, 24 silver and 46 bronze.
In Andorra, Montenegro will compete in 10 sports. Two team – women’s basketball and rugby 7 and eight individual: athletics, judo, karate, tennis, table tennis, swimming, rhythmic gymnastics and archery.
From the team sports, the basketball players will be the first to take the field. IMZE opens with a match against the host Andorra.

I am proud to make my debut at the Games. Competition is also important for experience and confidence. We will see everything when we come to the field – Nikčević is clear.

It’s nice to be part of the Montenegrin team. We will represent the country with pride, and our main goal is preparations for the European Championship. At the start, we have a match with the host, and honestly we don’t know too much about the opponent. I am convinced that with energy and togetherness we will reach a favorable result – said Jovana Pašić.
Marija Bogavac in the javelin discipline and Anđela Đuranović in the long jump will be the first to chase a good result in athletics.

It is a pleasure to represent Montenegro, and expectations are high. And the entire national team has high expectations. I hope that we will return home with honors – said Bogavac.
Ena Šćepanović (up to 52 kilograms), Tamara Gardašević (up to 57 kg), Ivana Šunjević (up to 63 kg), Emil Sinanović (up to 66 kg), Jusuf Nurković (up to 73 kg), Jahja Nurković (up to 81 kg), Novo Raičević (up to 90 kg), Andrija Martinović (up to 100 kg), Slobodan Vukić (over 100 kg) are the representatives of the judo national team and welcome tomorrow’s program with optimism.

We don’t know much about the competition. We are focused on ourselves and I believe that we can return home with medals, which is the goal – said Sinanović.
The karate team will also make its debut at the Games tomorrow. Helena Backović (up to 55 kilograms), Balša Vojinović (up to 60 kg), Nemanja Jovović (over 84 kg) and Mila Mraković (kate) are ready for their opponents.

We returned from Armenia with four European medals, which is why we believe that we can achieve good results here as well. There are many debutants who want to prove themselves in Andorra – said Vojinović.
The archery team arrived with six competitors. Tomorrow, Miloš Božović will have the opportunity to win the fourth medal at IMZE in the air rifle discipline. Kristina Popović and Ksenija Jukić perform in the same discipline, and Jovica Marković and Ivo Stanišić in the trap discipline.

I hope for the same result as in the previous three competitions. The competition in archery is always strong, and we came to fight – said Božović.
Table tennis players open the Games in doubles. Jakša Krivokapić, Stefan Radonjić, Kristina Šebek and Anastasija Vujović await more singles and mixed matches in the sequel.

We are debutantes. We will do our best to get a good result. I am glad to be a part of the Montenegrin national team and we can’t wait for the performance – emphasized Šebek.
Tea Nikčević and Stefan Đoković will make their first appearance at IMZE.
