Children’s smiles best depict the time of the New Year holidays – filled with giving, sharing and spreading joy. Guided by the holiday spirit, Jugopetrol AD, EKO gas stations and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee have traditionally joined forces to brighten up the holidays for the little ones at the Institute for Children’s Diseases.
Representatives of these organizations, together with the Montenegrin Olympian, judoka Jovana Peković, visited the Institute to present the children with gifts and wish them a speedy recovery. Their visit brought warmth among the youngest patients, reminding them how important every attention is.
This Jugopetrol’s holiday gesture, which has grown into a tradition over the years, has become synonymous with joy and support for the youngest at the Institute during the holidays, and the gifts were chosen with special care, to the satisfaction of the little ones who spend the holidays in the hospital.
During the visit, the Acting General Secretary of COK, Andrija Popović, said that it was an extraordinary honor for them to be a part of this noble tradition.
“This gesture is not only a gift, but also a sign that the community thinks of the children who are forced to spend the holidays in the hospital due to illness. We hope that these moments will make their stay at the Institute easier and help them in the healing process, because the feeling of love and attention from the community can be very healing,” Popović said.
Sara Ivanović Božović, marketing manager of Jugopetrol, pointed out that it is extremely important for the company to be part of initiatives that have real value for the community.
“Every initiative that contributes to the happiness of children and their families is of inestimable importance. In this period of the year, when togetherness and solidarity are most important, we want to be present, provide support and remind of the strength of humanity. These gifts and attention are not only symbolic gestures, but confirmation of our commitment to social responsibility and care for the most sensitive members of our community. We believe that small signs of attention can bring great joy and make the holidays warmer for everyone,” she said.
Regarding this kind of support from the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Jugopetrol and our athletes, the director of the Institute for Children’s Diseases, Dr. Velibor Majić, also expressed his gratitude.
“On behalf of the Institute for Children’s Diseases, I want to thank the Jugopetrol company for the wonderful gifts that were carefully selected and divided by gender and age. What I also want to emphasize is that this is our traditional New Year’s meeting. Thank you for being socially responsible and thank you for taking care of us and our youngest patients. I hope we will continue this successful cooperation for the benefit of the whole community”, said the Director of the Institute.
This event reminded us that even in times of trial, love and joy can find their way, connecting us through the spirit of giving and mutual support.
