The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, congratulated Montenegro’s women’s U18 handball team on winning the silver medal at the World Championship.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our young handball players, the coaching staff and the Handball Federation of Montenegro on this historic achievement and the silver medal at the World Championship. It was a pleasure to watch this generation demonstrate, match after match, their talent, character, unity and courage to compete with the best in the world.
Reaching the World Championship final and becoming world runners-up is an achievement that deserves great respect and will remain written in the history of Montenegrin sport.
It is particularly encouraging to see these young athletes confirm their place among the world’s best teams for the second consecutive year. Their success speaks not only to the quality of this generation, but also to the potential of Montenegrin women’s handball in the years ahead.
Great results do not happen overnight. Behind this medal are years of hard work, sacrifice, discipline, support and belief in a shared goal.
Girls, be proud of what you have achieved and of the way you represented Montenegro. You have made us proud and shown how much a small country can achieve when it has great talent, hard work and unity.
Congratulations on your world silver medal, and I hope this will be just one of many great chapters in your sporting journey,” Simonović said.
