Miloš Milenković finished seventh in the 100m butterfly and eighth in the 50m butterfly at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.
The Montenegrin swimmer concluded his competitive season at the Mediterranean Games, satisfied with the times and records he achieved throughout the season, and particularly with reaching two finals in Taranto.
“I did not swim my best times, but I am satisfied with the races. I reached both finals, which is a great achievement for me as this was my debut at this competition. I certainly could have done better, but many details, particularly in the 50m, determine the final placing. I did not get a good push-off in either race, and there were a few other details that were not quite right. It is well known that shorter distances require perfect swimming,” Milenković said.
He had quietly hoped to reach the 100m final, but also finished among the top eight in the shorter distance.
“The push-off affected my chances of achieving an even better placing. Perhaps I could have competed for a medal. I hope that I will be better in the season ahead and that at the next Mediterranean Games I will improve on this result and win a medal,” Milenković said.
