The Olympic Games in Paris opened with a spectacular ceremony and parade, which will go down in history, and the powerful moment of lighting the Olympic flame.
For the first time, the ceremony was not held in the stadium, but “in the open” – in the magnificent setting of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Placed in 85 ships, sportsmen and women from 205 countries of the world and members of the Refugee Olympic Team cruised the Seine, in front of more than 100,000 spectators along the coast.
Our sportsmen, sportswomen, coaches and members of the Olympic mission, led by Danka Kovinić and Milivoj Dukić, took part in the spectacle for all time, with the Montenegrin flag held high in their hands.
And while the Olympians enjoyed a unique event despite the heavy rain, an impeccably organized and designed program took place on the monumental symbols of the “city of light”.
Effectively, artistically refined and adapted to the modern age, French history, culture, individuality and the unity of diversity are presented, with the stamp of music stars like Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura, with a brilliant performance of the French national anthem by opera singer Axel Saint-Cyrel, and an emotional and impressive performance during which Juliette Armani performed the iconic pop number, which symbolizes the desire for peace in the world – Imagine, undisputed by John Lennon.
The final part of the ceremony was held on the Trocadéro square under the Eiffel Tower.
After the speech by Tony Estange, President of the Organizing Committee of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and IOC President Thomas Bach, the Olympic torch began its final journey carried by legends Zinedine Zidane, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Carl Lewis, Nadia Comaneci, Tony Parker… to light the Olympic flame on a magnificent stage by judoka Teddy Riner and athlete Marie-José Perec, while the brilliant voice of Celine Dion rang out. in a Parisian night.
The flame lit up Paris in a balloon, and the 33rd Olympic Games of the modern era were officially opened.
